Enshi Data Center Indirect Evaporative Cooling Tower Project
project overview
This project constitutes a mission-critical digital infrastructure development within Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province, with strategic importance for accelerating regional digital economy growth.
The total land area is 12,000 square meters, and the total construction area is approximately 9,889.22 square meters. It is planned as a national top-level Class A computer room. After completion, it will provide a capacity of 2,528 racks and can accommodate 6,800 standard servers. Its main functions include cloud computing centers, data centers, and energy centers, aiming to provide efficient and secure data processing and storage services for Enshi Prefecture and the surrounding areas. The project designs indirect evaporative cooling water chillers that are environmentally friendly and energy-efficient. In winter, they serve as the direct cooling source for the data center, and in summer, they serve as the cooling source for the water-cooled chillers equipped in the data center.
The requirements are as follows:
This project employs two sets of Aolan indirect evaporation water chillers, AGS455-ZLB, with each set consisting of 12 modules, forming a system. There are a total of 2 systems. During hot and humid summer weather, the indirect evaporation water chillers are used as cooling towers to provide cooling water for the water-cooled water chillers to achieve cooling. During transitional spring and autumn seasons, and winter, the indirect evaporation chillers directly serve as the cold source to provide chilled water to the end devices, thereby achieving energy conservation and consumption reduction of the system.
Operation mode
In summer: Mode 1 of the operating conditions, the Aolan indirect evaporative chiller provides 36/30℃ inlet and outlet chilled water, serving as the cooling water for the water-cooled chiller. Under this mode, the indirect evaporative cooling chiller + water-cooled chiller + terminal chilled water type precision air conditioner are operated.
In winter: The operation mode is No. 2. The indirect evaporative chiller from Aolan provides cold water at 23/17℃. The cold water serves as the direct cold source and, through the plate heat exchanger, supplies cold water to the terminal precision air conditioners of the chilled water type. Under this mode, the indirect evaporative cooling chiller, the plate heat exchanger and the terminal precision air conditioners of the chilled water type are in operation.
Technical highlights
Green and energy-saving: The adoption of the Aolan indirect evaporative chiller fully utilizes natural cold sources, saving 35% of electricity compared to conventional solutions. The power usage effectiveness (PUE) is ≤ 1.25, meeting national energy-saving standards.
