Data Room Ventilation and Cooling

Industry Overview

In the large-scale communication equipment room and core equipment room, the area is about 100-400m2, the cabinet density is high, and the heat generation is large. Generally, multiple direct-expansion air-cooled large-cabinet-type precision air conditioners with large cooling capacity are installed. A certain number of air outlets are arranged through the air duct. Generally, the direction of the cooling air flow of the cabinet is also considered. However, due to the placement of the equipment, there are socket flow in the channel of the cabinet, and high temperature alarms occur from time to time, which affects the normal operation of the cabinet. The date room is airtight, and the compressor operates uninterruptedly throughout the year for refrigeration, with high failure rate, large power consumption, and high operation and maintenance costs. Making full use of natural cold sources, reducing or canceling the running time of mechanical compressor air conditioners, reducing energy consumption, lowering PUE value, and reducing maintenance costs for air conditioner failures have become the main direction of energy-saving renovation of communication equipment rooms.

Evaporative air cooling system solution: Under the conditions that can be connected to the water source, the evaporative air cooling system can be used. Make full use of the dry air energy with low wet bulb temperature in winter and transitional seasons, the outdoor fresh air is sent into the room after being filtered and purified, evaporative cooling, absorbs the heat of the indoor IT equipment into high-temperature air, and then is discharged outdoors through the forced exhaust fan. It adopts Aolan special evaporative air coolers and special intelligent control system for the computer room. The evaporative air cooling system is operated in spring, autumn and winter, and the original compressor air conditioning system is operated in high temperature and high humidity weather such as summer. The project was put into use in 2019. It can run for more than 4,500 hours a year, and the annual power saving rate can reach 45%.

This project is an evaporative cooling renovation system for a core computer room of China Unicom Inner Mongolia. It adopts Aolan special evaporative air coolers and special intelligent control system for the computer room. The evaporative cooling system is operated in spring, autumn and winter, and the original compressor air conditioning system is operated in high temperature and high humidity weather such as summer. The project was put into use in 2019. It can run for more than 8,000 hours a year, and the annual power saving rate can reach 78%.

It adopts Aolan special evaporative air cooler and special intelligent control system for the computer room. The evaporative cooling system is operated in spring, autumn and winter, and the original compressor air conditioning system is operated in high temperature and high humidity weather such as summer. The project will be put into use in 2021. It can run for more than 6,000 hours a year, and the annual power saving rate can reach 55%.
