1. How does it work?
The evaporative air cooler uses a special evaporation pad, which is soaked with water. The hot air from outside is drawn by the fan through the pad. The water in the pad evaporates and carries away heat from the air. The cooled air then is sent to where it is needed.

2. How does it compare with refrigerative air conditioning?
Refrigerative Air Conditioning:
Stale air,odours and germs recirculate within the home.
Consumes greater amount of energy
   ×  Recirculates the same stale air
   ×  Windows and doors must be closed
   ×  Dries the air which can be bad for asthma and allergy sufferers
   ×  Reduces efficiency and capacity as temperature rises outside        temperature rises

3. How much will it reduce the temperature?
It depends on the temperature and humidity of the ambient air. Generally speaking, the drier and hotter the ambient condition is, the more temperature could drop the cooler can produce. For instance, at a temperature of 25C and humidity of 50%, the cooler will produce a 5 C drop in the temperature and at a temperature of 35C and a humidity of 30% the cooler will produce a 10C drop in the temperature. You can refer to the following chart for the temperature drop. Please note that recommended humidity level is 60% or less which allows a noticeable temperature drop to make people feel comfortable:

4. Are evaporative air coolers good for health?
Yes for sure.
They clean the air.
The air used is 100% fresh.
They maintain a very good level of moisture.
They reduce the static electricity.

5. How much maintenance does it need?
It depends very much on the degree of environmental pollution. Normally, what you need is just cleaning the water tank at the end of the season. In heavily polluted industrial environment, you will need to clean the filter pads by hosing them off. Eventually you will need to replace the filter pads to keep the machine function efficiently.

6. What are the applications of evaporative air coolers?
Evaporative air coolers can be used in a wide range of properties.
They are installed in the domestic buildings in dry and hot areas.
They are installed in large open commercial space such as retail garden centres, where the machine can provide constant flow of cool air for customers and at the same time keep the plants moisturized.
Without cooling the entire work space, evaporative air cooler can provide spot cooling for workers by using vertical ducts, so as to greatly increase productivity of the workers.
With the continual flow of fresh, cool air through the building, evaporative air coolers remove bad odors and stale air from the place, and thus they are good for restaurants and factories such as rubber plants and shoe manufacturers.
Some industries, such as textile, require a certain level of humidity in the workplace. The evaporative air cooler is an ideal choice.
As the evaporative air cooler never recirculates the same air, illness such as cold and flu are never transmitted. Therefore, it is good for the places with a large congregation of people, such as churches and conference halls
